Do You Need Acne Scar Removal or Treatment?

If you have acne scars from breakouts that you had in the past, there are ways to help remove them. Or, you just might have some pimples now that are leaving scars. Well, there is help. Know what some of your options are for treatment, and understand that acne scar removal is possible even with persistent acne woes and scarring.

Now a days the treatment for removing scars are up to date and modern. There are all kinds of treatments, but only a qualified dermatologist can help you get those scars off of your face or body, so you can start feeling confident about how you look. Depending on the type of acne that you’ve had, or are experiencing now, your doctor will determine the routine of acne scar removal that you need.

Most acne scar treatments require clear skin before treatment begins, so this is the first issue that must be addressed. If you haven’t done it already, make an appointment with your dermatologist to get started. Every person must be evaluated individually and treated on a case-by-case basis, and what works for one may not work for another

Some of the different ways that this is done can range from medication, surgery, and light or laser therapy. Medications like Tetracycline are antibiotics that will clear up acne by stopping infection, and the skin heals naturally.

Another type of medication that helps with acne scar removal is called Accutane. It has high doses of Vitamin A that eliminate oils from the skin, and cuts down on the scarring by eliminating infection. There are potential side effects of the antibiotics and Accutane. After a while you can develop immunity to the antibiotics, or even become very allergic to the medications.

Do not take Accutane if you are thinking of becoming pregnant or are pregnant. Only a dermatologist should prescribe this type of acne scar removal.

Light or laser therapy is great for removing scars that are moderate or severe too. You’ll know that your doctor is recommending these types of acne scar removal treatments when Blue or Red Light Therapy is discussed.

Fotofacials are another type that is often used too. It rids your skin of scars by using pulsating frequencies of lights or lasers. Scars are either totally removed, or they are faded to the point that a good makeup will hide the remaining evidence. The best thing about it is that results are sometimes better with this type of acne scar removal treatment.

Most acne scar treatments are not covered by health insurance plans, and can be quite costly if more than a couple of treatments are needed, which is the case in more instances than not. Less expensive acne scar treatments can always be tried first, especially if the scars are not too severe. Check with your dermatologist’s office for prices of various procedures recommended, and also check online for more in depth information on acne scar treatments

It’s important too that medications don’t have to be used for an extended period, and it’s not as dangerous. Acne scar removal is possible, and all you have to do is to make an appointment, and start on the way to healing your scars on your body, and your outlook on you.

Sweat can clog skin pores and lead to breakouts all over. Other things that can cause body acne are tight fitting clothing ( It traps sweat against the skin, leading to clogged pores and blemishes) stress and hormones. Body acne commonly pops up on the chest and back.

To zap body acne and prevent it from coming back, you can wash your body daily with a salicylic acid based cleanser. Look for this ingredient on product labels.

Shower daily and be sure to shower as soon as possible anytime you have been sweating – such as after playing sports, working outside or just being in the sun. After your shower, you can follow up by a body moisturizer that contains Alfa Hydroxy acid. This will exfoliate skin and help prevent breakouts, without drying skin out.

At Nighttime you can treat body acne just like facial acne, by applying an acne zapping gel or cream at the effected parts.

Is Baby Acne Common Among Newborns?

Author: Charley Hwang

In our life, reproduction is one of the essential needs of human besides food, shelter and protection from harm. Most of parents are thrilled to see their newborn come into the world but how many people now about baby acne? If you do come across babies with little red spot on their cheeks, that will be baby acne. Some elderly might calm parents down by knowing that it will go away after some time. It is best to consult doctor or other parents that have tackled the problem before and solve it.

Baby acne is not uncommon among newborns and same like adult acne, it has a special name ‘infantile acne’. Cheek is one of the favorite spot for infantile acne to grow but it may also strike chins and foreheads of newborns. When a baby is born with infantile acne, the period of which it will hang on is from 2 weeks to 2 months. Worst case scenario makes it possibly till 6 months on the infant.

At this moment, some parents might be worried but only time can heal this problem. It can be said to be related to hormone in the baby which is passed down by the mother. However, there are good and bad hormones that are passed down. Not to worry as these hormones will eventually fade away and the only results are clean, rosy cheek of your baby.

The first of the tips to come are not doing anything that worsens the situation. As we some adults do, we like to prick the acne on our face. This is a practice that should not be done to baby. Their skin is delicate and might hurt the baby.

Secondly, do not put any oil or lotion on the infantile acne on the baby. Some parents might be too worried until making the wrong choice. It is understandable but the only thing that parents can do is wash the baby with gentle or mild soap and treat the baby’s clothes with good quality detergent. If infantile acne does not reside after 6 months, do seek doctor’s advice as this is not a common among infantile acne.

Mother’s skin care and diet programs, before or after pregnancy can affect the baby in many ways. It is best to care for your diet, do not eat things that can affect your skin. Baby feeds on mother’s milk to grow and build immunity systems thus your lifestyle inter-relates to your baby. During the first few weeks, baby’s skin is very delicate thus it’s best not to put any baby products that are available in the market. Just let the skin breath naturally to meet with the acne condition.

In conclusion, baby acne is quite rarely heard but it is not something and should be deal with care. Baby’s skin is very delicate thus we can relate it to us like caring for our own skin.

Home Remedies for Acne: Simple and Effective

Millions of inhabitants have experience from acne during their adolescent days. Some of them, mainly women have suffered a extended acne problem beyond teenage. So much has been argued and invented to wipe off this threat from the face. But in fact some of the home remedies are successful in treating acne.

Contrary to popular believe greasy, dirty skin and hair do not cause acne but in order to prevent infection it is essential to maintain strict cleanliness extremely and internally. Many sources advocate washing with pure soap and water but I believe that it is best to keep the face clean with warm water alone using a small, slightly abrasive face sponge. I also believe strongly in the benefits of warm, healing face masks which will soften and cleanse the clogged pores without adding to the problem.

It is when acne becomes infected by pressing and picking and thus allowing dirt to infiltrate the vulnerable areas that the major problems arise. Up until that point acne is just one of those aggravations which disappear after a while. I do not think that it is wise to use facial scrubs and peelers, heavy cleansing lotions and strong astringents, nor to try to cover the affected area with masking creams and powder. Fresh water, particularly sea water, fresh air and sunlight will do far more to improve the condition of the skin and so will looking to your diet and that euphemistic ‘inner cleanliness’.

Diet

Cut out all fats and eat plenty of good greenstuffs. An excellent breakfast time cocktail to be taken daily in times of crises is a combination of beetroot, celery and tomato juice. When the condition has cleared reduce the dose to twice a week a preventative. Blackstrap molasses taken daily is another essential as is honey or honey and lemon juice tea at night. Liquorice, either is a tea or as sweets, was the old-fashioned answer to spots and is considerably more palatable than cold liver oil and cold baths.

If you suffer frequently form these frustra5ting outbreaks try to pinpoint the times when they are most likely to occur and take evasive action beforehand by going on a three-day diet of grapes an water or fruit juice. However this should only be attempted when you are resting, otherwise you will become tired and even more stressed. Another preventative tonic to be taken before a period ( if this is the time when acne begins to make itself felt) is made by simmering 25g (1oz) fresh sorrel in 1 litre ( 1 ¾ pints) of water for 10 minutes.

A decoction of horsetail (Equisetaceae) Taken regularly this was considered to be the best possible tonic to cure acne and eczema. It also encourages the white spots on fingernails to disappear but I believe that this is a because it improves the general state of health. Horsetail decoction also provides and excellent healing washes for most skin conditions.

Acne Home Remedies

Cleansing Lotions and Packs

Lemon juice Moreover apply it on neat which is particularly precious if you have been picking—or with an equal quantity of water to wash a bigger area.

Thyme and lemon lotion Boil several sprigs of fresh thyme in 2 cups of water for two minutes and leave to infuse for five. Strain and add the juice of ½ lemons. Use this to wash the face at least two times in a day.
Nettle tea Nettle tea can be used to clean with and to drink. Parsley juice and the expressed juice of comfrey leaves are also precious ointment.

Herbal Lotions Lady’s mantle, yarrow, marigold, lavender and comomile may all be useful as may any hearing herbal vinegar diluted with water.

Soopwort Wash with a soapwort solution vinegar dikluted if the skin very greasy.

Comomile, lime, sage, thyme Any one or a mixture of these herbs in a warm poultice will soothe and heal. Place the herbs in a bowl of boiling water until they have softened and cool a slight before applying. Many people favor to use them as ‘steamer’ to unlock the pores but this may cause illness to spread.

Comfrey Both the powdered root and the leaves make a curative poultice and a superb lotion.

Lettuce leaves Boiled and applied humid leaves help to calm overheated skin.

Grape skins If you are feeling extravagant a poultice or grape skins is said to be the very best method of healing acne.

Marigold and wheatgerm oil Pound 2 tablespoons of fresh or 1 tablespoon of dried marigold petals with 4 tablespoon of warm wheatgerm oil (a good source of vitamin E). Strain into a little bottle and use to heal those small scars or blemishes caused by acne, burns and thread veins.

Sulphur Mask
1 teaspoon sulphur powder
2 tablespoon fuller’s earth
1 beaten egg white bottled water.
Combine the ingredients together using sufficient bottled water to make a smooth paste. Although this is an proficient deep cleansing mask but make an allergy test before using it because some skins may suffer an adverse reaction to sulphur. To do this spread a little of the mixture over the skin on the inside of elbow. Stay for a few minutes then wash off and pat dry and see if the skin gets infected due to this mixture.

Plum mask Mash 250g (8oz) of boiled plums with 1 teaspoon of almond oil to make a thick paste. Many acne sufferers also have the double problem of a dry skin and this mask, used cautiously, may help to alleviate it.

Tomato Paste Mask
4 good-sized tomatoes
Finely ground oatmeal
1 teaspoon clear honey
Puree and sieve the tomatoes. Mix the components to make a smooth paste and rub it softly over the skin, focussed on the worst affected areas. Leave on the skin for 10 minutes the rinse off with warm water. This remedy is more of a preventative for it cleanses and clears blackheads and blocked pores like magic.

Onion Mask

1 tablespoon onion juice (extracted in a blender)
1 tablespoon kaolin powder
1 teaspoon clear honey

Mix the ingredients together to form a thick paste and use on blemished, oily skins.
Essential oils of camomile, lavender and myrrh These oils may all be dabbedneat on to badly affected areas and are particularly useful if you have dry skin, although essential oils do become absorbed so rapidly into the skin that you may need a second dab.

17 Years Acne Completely Under Control

The Acne Cure Step 1 - The Night Bath

Only 2 months of using the Acne cure method, my acnes have completely under control. Face cleared up twice as fast and pigmentation lighten. I have combined 3 steps of curing methods using Mother Nature natural resources to control my Acne, NO expensive creams, lotions, or prescribed medicines. Sorry this is not a 1 or 2 days cure method but you will see results in one or two week’s time. Usually I have outbreak after SEX, yes after sex… Not sure whether other acne suffers have this problem, but after using this Acne cure methods, NO more outbreaks!

Here comes the cure…

Step 1.

Daily routine - THE NIGHT BATH

You must do this every day or twice a day if not convenient for you. THE NIGHT BATH ingredients you need are:

4 Cups of Dead Sea Salt (Normal sea salt will do but not as effective)
4 Cups of Epsom Salt

Why Dead Sea salt and Epsom salt? Epsom salt is well know for expelling toxins out of your body and Dead Sea salt contains minerals and naturally occurring chemicals found in dead sea which could replenish your body lost minerals and also for its antiseptic properties.

Fill your bath tub with the mixtures and lukewarm water, soak yourself inside for about 20-30 minutes. If you are not afraid that the salt will irritates your eyes, you can sink yourself totally into the water as long as your breath can hold. About 20-30 minutes later RINSE YOURSELF WITH COOL WATER.

Note: If you can’t access to bath tub, than mix 3 tablespoons of Dead Sea salt and Epsom salt with 1 tablespoon of warm water (not too watery) and a few drops of tea tree oil in a bowl, mix them well. Choose a comfortable area to lie down and apply the mixture on your face, neck or back. Avoid broken skin area, rinse with cool water after 20-30 minutes. This method is not as powerful as soaking yourself in the salt water, but it does helps.

You will have a very relaxing feeling with just 20-30 minutes of miracle salt bath. As I mentioned earlier, this step has to be done everyday until your skin condition improved. After I found this cure than remember when I was 8-12 years old, my dad used to bring me to swim in the sea and my skin was flawless. So if possible, go swim in the sea few times a week. So much for step 1 and if you do it consistently, you can see results very soon.

Cure Your Acne The Safe and Painless Way

It may sound a bit sci-fi, but photons, like the photon torpedoes in Star Trek, are used to treat acne. This is called acne light treatment. It is also called blue light therapy, and clearlight. University studies in Great Britain have shown that a blue light red light treatment of acne is very effective. Clindamycin is often used to supplement acne light treatment with the benefits of light treatment being more effective than Clindamycin alone in the short-term, while Clindamycin used in combination with the light treatment is very effective in the long term.

Acne

Acne creates small molecules known as porphyrins that can turn help produce the bacterium that causes most types of acne inflammation. Acne can be described as an inflammatory skin eruption, which is commonly seen in or near the sub cutaneous part of the various parts of the human body, including the face, neck, upper back, and shoulders. Blue visible light leads to the photoexcitation of the bacterial porphyrins, singlet oxygen production, and eventually acnes destruction.

Pimples

Red light also decreases the healing time of lesions or pimples that have already broken through the skin. Pimples are small skin lessions or inflammations of the skin. As most teenage girls will attest, pimples seem to pop up at the wrong times, which for them can be almost anytime on any given day. Acne refers to plugged pores, pimples, cysts and nodules that occur in the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders, upper arms, and upper legs according to dermatologists.

Bacteria

Medical researchers have discovered Blue Light is effective in killing bacteria that cause skin blemishes deep within skin. Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy acts by killing acne causing bacteria. Red light is reported to stimulate collagen growth, thereby reducing the occurrence of wrinkles. Blue light kills acne bacteria. Amber light is used to help alleviate pain. Isolating the light and applying it to the affected areas, kills the bacteria and helps control acne breakouts. As with many other types of natural infections, doctors are finding that, over a period of time, bacteria associated with acne are becoming resistant to treatment with certain antibiotics.

Treatment

Your doctor will consider your skin type when prescribing the treatment. Skin irritation is a common side effect of topical treatment, and oral antibiotics have a limited role because of the emergence of antibiotic resistant bacteria.

Fifteen minutes of exposure to low-level blue light, done twice a week for a month reduced acne symptoms in 60% to 80% of the people who participated in a recent study and the effect lasted up to eight months. If the symptoms are very mild and the remedy works, you might want to continue it. If the symptoms are more severe, it might be time to seek out a different remedy. One of the reasons why many have had poor results with acne treatment is that they address only the symptoms and not the cause. One problem for acne sufferers is that the hands also contain oils and bacteria which will exacerbate acne symptoms. Acne bacteria can also be deposited at night on pillows while you sleep.

Side effects

There can be side effects from acne light treatment of temporary redness and dryness, but these tend to go away in a very short period of time. Safe and effective for curing acne, acne light treatment is considered the best acne treatment, because it gives high results, has few side effects, and the chances of bacteria developing resistance is minimal. Also known as Blue Light Photodynamic Therapy treatment it is noninvasive and pain-free with full-in a row face and neck treatments taking approximately 15 minutes.

The latest and best ways to get rid of acne is by using little photon torpedoes. Medical science has made a breakthrough in acne light treatment. It is becoming a popular preferred remedy, because it is an easy and drug-free way to help heal blemishes.

Easy And Natural Ways To Get Rid Of Acne

Candida yeast infection is being caused by the overgrowth of the Candida fungi. This could happen for a lot of reason. Pregnancy or stress may cause it as well as some illnesses which affect the immune system. Even some medicines like birth control pills or steroids may cause the Candida yeast infection. But the antibiotics are the most dangerous as they kill the bacteria which is preventing the overgrowth of the Candida fungi, consequently the infection is on its way. Another cause for the Candida yeast infection could be high blood sugar, but in young females case. Girls who are suffering from untreated diabetes present a higher risk of suffering from with Candida yeast infection.

Probiotics are those little bacteria numbering in the billions that help you live a good healthy life. They help to process food and enhance the absorption of B vitamins. You can end the chronic yeast infection that plagues you by simply starting a daily long term use of probiotics.

Candida Albicans is a destructive yeast infection that begins in the digestive system and little by little spreads to other parts of the body. Candida is present in all of us not long after birth. Typically, this yeast remain in a healthful balance with the other bacteria and yeasts within the intestinal tract. Under certain conditions, such as excessive stress, lowered immunity or the long-term use of steroids, the candida yeast can multiply, thus disrupting the gastrointestinal "terrain". Candida overgrowth may also be a consequence of antibiotic treatment, as antibiotics not only kill pathogens but also a large number of those bacteria that are part of a healthy gastrointestinal flora. With the depletion of the beneficial protective flora in the intestinal tract and a weakened immune response, this opportunistic yeast can then spread and multiply beyond the intestinal tract affecting every organ in the body.

The chemicals in vaginal douches may irritate your vagina and change the normal balance of good bacteria. Douching also can spread an infection from your vagina or cervix up into the uterus, increasing your risk of getting pelvic inflammatory disease (also called PID). PID is a painful infection of the fallopian tubes that can cause you to be unable to get pregnant. Douching is not necessary to keep your body clean. Odors usually come from outside the vagina. Keeping this area clean with gentle soap and water can prevent odors.

Unfortunately, many doctors misdiagnose a yeast infection as being bacterial in nature and they will treat it with antibiotics. This can lead to the elimination of the yeasts natural competitors and actually increase the severity of the yeast infection.

Most women find that they prefer natural remedies to prevent and treat yeast infections. Do some research and decide which treatment is best for you. When you compare the treatments for yeast infections, you will be certain to find the one that best suits your needs, budget and lifestyle.

Yeast are normally found in the human body, but it becomes abnormal if it overgrows on a certain parts where it should not even be there. Most women experience yeast infection in their life as Candida albicans can be found on the vagina due to over productionof yeast. In pregnant mothers, the use of antibiotics and diabetes can be a cause of candida infection.

6 Home Remedies to Remove Acne Scars

Submitted by: Naweko

Do you have acne scarring but plastic surgery is out of the question? No need to worry. While you may not get Dr. 90210 like results, items available in your own kitchen can help improve acne scarring if done correctly. In two simple steps, all you need to do to affordably improve your acne scarring is: 1. Gently remove the damaged layers of the skin and 2. Nurture your skin with collagen and moisture building foods so that your skin can more rapidly repair itself. Acne Scar Remedy 1: LemonsIf your acne scars are dark, you can use lemon juice to lighten them. First, cleanse the scar with water. Dab one teaspoon of lemon juice into a cotton ball and smooth it over the acne marks. Leave for ten minutes, then rinse. Use caution with lemon juice because it can make your skin photosensitive. So be certain to use a sunscreen on any area you treat with lemon juice prior to going out into the sun. Acne Scar Remedy 2: SodaExfoliate your skin with baking soda. Often times, a version of baking soda is used in cosmetic microdermabrasion treatments. You can give yourself a mini microdermabrasion treatment by mixing one teaspoon of baking soda with the two teaspoons of filtered water. Then gently rub the mixture on your acne scar for sixty seconds then rinse it off. Acne Scar Remedy 3: OlivesAfter exfoliating your skin with baking soda, massage a pea-sized amount of olive oil onto your face. Acne scaring can cause the skin to lose its elasticity and suppleness. The moisturizing nutrients in the olive oil will penetrate the skin to deeply moisturize the skin and soften the skin's texture.Acne Scar Remedy 4: FruitsIn addition to eating fresh fruits to supply your skin with collagen building vitamin C, you can also smear them onto your face for gentle acid exfoliation. Just puree a forth a cup of pineapple and smooth it onto your face. Leave it for 10-15 minutes, then rinse. Acne - Not Just A Pimple

Submitted by: Kevin

It was known that acne was basically caused when the pores are choked by sebum. These sebum oils which in the normal context would drain to the surface get blocked and bacteria start to grow. These bacterial formations could be termed as whiteheads and blackheads. Whiteheads are formed when the bacteria and sebum are trapped below the skin surface. In the same manner blackheads are formed when the trapped sebum and bacteria are slightly open to the surface and turn black due to the melanin, the skin pigment. The most common type of acne is the acne vulgaris and the other types of acnes are known as comedones, papules, pustules, nodules, cysts. Acne is formed also due to the hormonal changes which are very common during puberty. During the developing years the hormones stimulate the sebaceous glands which makes excess sebum and with this sebum there is clogging of the pores which leads to acne. It can also happen during pregnancies when the mother goes through hormonal changes. After a period of time, may be by the time one reaches twenties, acne disappears. Other reason for developing acne is by eating oily and greasy food. Too much of aerated water as well as chocolates can be harmful for the skin.It is also believed that another factor which causes acne is heredity or genes. As these genes are passed on from the parents to the child the conditions of acne are also passed on from the parents. In many cases school aged boys and girls have acne problems as it is part of their family history. Use of various numbers of drugs also causes such problems. Make-up which has not been cleaned properly leads to creation of acne. It has affected people of the age-group of 12-24 which would sum up most of the adolescent and teenage years of the person. A change in hormonal patterns in adolescent girls as well as adult women leads to acne. For some it starts before the menstrual cycle and acne starts showing up on your face or any other part of the body. Constant rubbing and squeezing can lead to some of the worse forms of it. Tight sweaty clothes and many environmental changes also lead to acne. Skin itching, burning, steroids also cause acne. The proper skin care would mean a total no-no for all the acnes in the world. Healthy eating and exercise helps in maintaining the body and to give glowing skin. It is recommended that people with acne should use a gentle cleanser and avoid all the strong soaps and rough scrub pads. Avoiding sunburn and suntan may be temporary benefits. Excessive exposure to sun is not good which might lead to other problems like dryness of skin as well as skin cancer. If you are using cosmetics, see to it that you use the proper ones so as to not to accelerate the level of acne. There are ingredients used in it which may be harmful and should be checked before using it. If the acne you have is very chronic then you should get treated by dermatologists who can help you clear all the acne. The extremely severe cases are the ones which are taken to the dermatologists. The treatment would help in taking out the scars and lesions and prevent new lesions from forming. The treatment would help in removing the bacteria which is settled under the skin. This would not be needed if proper skin care is taken. The unwanted use of hormonal pills, maybe from steroids to increase your weight is not needed.
